Family Trip to Brussels, Belgium
During our country-hop tour, we spent a few days in Brussels, Belgium! Traveling from Amsterdam, we took a short flight on KLM Airlines and quickly found ourselves in the heart of Belgium.
Where We Stayed
We checked into the Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport. The hotel was well-appointed, and the check-in process was smooth and easy.
What we loved most:
-
Room service available (a big convenience when traveling with children)
-
Spacious room with plenty of space for the whole family
-
A quiet location away from the busy city center, yet close enough to get around easily
Getting Around
Getting around Brussels was simple. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel and relied on Uber throughout our stay. This made it super easy to reach different attractions without worrying about navigating public transportation.
Belgian Waffles & Manneken Pis
Belgium is world-famous for its waffles, and of course, we had to try some during our visit! We headed to the Manneken Pis statue (the famous “peeing boy”) using Uber.
Once we arrived, we were immediately surrounded by waffle shops. The smell alone was enough to make your mouth water! We loved choosing from the wide variety of toppings—fresh fruit, chocolate, whipped cream, and more. The waffles were made fresh on the spot and tasted incredible.
The Manneken Pis area was packed with tourists from all over the world. The statue itself is only about two feet tall and bronze in color. Sometimes it’s dressed in costumes, though during our visit it wasn’t. Still, it was fun to take photos and explore the surrounding streets.
Family-Friendly Fun
Brussels is a great city to visit with children. Beyond waffles, there are plenty of sweet treats. Don’t miss the ice cream! The city’s walkable streets, fun statues, and lively atmosphere made it an enjoyable experience for the whole family.
After exploring, we headed back to our hotel using Uber, which remained our go-to method for quick and easy travel.
Final Thoughts
Our trip to Brussels was short but memorable. From delicious Belgian waffles to the iconic Manneken Pis, the city has so much charm. The Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport made for a comfortable and family-friendly stay, and getting around was simple with Uber.
We highly recommend adding Brussels to your European itinerary, it’s the perfect blend of history, food, and family fun!
